Depression kicks in for some reason

Every day is war to me,
A struggle to obtain reality.
A shower, my make-up, putting on my shoes.
It's hard to see the point some days,
And no one has a clue.
I have been deemed so many things,
by those who wouldn't know.
High maintenance, a worrier,
A boy putting on a show.
I've been trained to feel unworthy,
Ugly and hard to love.
The pills, they make me tired,
Sometimes I feel that I'm one mistake
from losing all I've suffered for.

When you fled I disappeared
into the abscesses of my brain.
We are both impulsive humans
and perhaps my disappearance
was premature. To reappear
I had to grow younger. I began
consuming images of women
at a very rapid speed, never
their bodies just reflections.
I distorted all the mirrors
in mucus, oil and blood.
When I say that I consumed
I do not mean that I ate the mirrors,
only that I stood beside the women,
dowsed the glass and incanted.
I chanted you love me
to 300 women but none said yes.
What does it mean to be so sick
with want that you create rituals
which lead nowhere? Only to be
human, and less
than animals. I don’t want
to be human anymore
so I have covered the mirrors
in blankets. You returned to me
but never uncovered them.

The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!!
